I started wearing glasses in the second grade because I couldn’t see the blackboard. I had very bad astigmatism in both of my eyes, besides that I had no distance vision. Wearing glasses was a nuisance because I had to remember where I’d put them. I had to remember to bring them in my purse. I always had to have two sets with me. Whatever I did I had to make sure that I did not leave my glasses at home.
The day I went in to have LASIK surgery I wasn’t really nervous because my husband had it done already. It was not painful at all. I started noticing improvement in my vision the next day. I could see fine without my glasses. My vision now, since I’ve had the procedure done is 20/20 according to the doctor. I don’t need any reading glasses, I don’t need anything. It’s perfect. I can wear pretty sunglasses!
The best thing I like about Dr. Shiller is that he’s kind and caring. He takes time with you. If you have questions, he’ll answer them. If you feel nervous about the surgery, he’ll explain every little detail that you need to know so that you feel good about it.
LASIK was definitely worth the investment for me. If you’re thinking about having LASIK, I would say go for it!

I’ve been wearing glasses for at least 25 years. I found myself always looking for them, especially in the mornings when I’d get up…losing them…leaving them. It became a problem.
Dr. Shiller is a very, very fine doctor and very fine person and he and his staff was wonderful. They put me through several eye exams, several tests and explained every step of the way what was going to happen. They made sure I was comfortable. I never had any fear about going and having the surgery done after speaking with him and his staff.
After the surgery was over…my vision changed drastically after the first 24 hours. I was able to drive and see very well within four to five days. My vision now is very, very good. I’m able to do all of my hobbies so much better now without having to wear the glasses. I’m thoroughly enjoying this. I just feel better about myself I feel more confident about myself. I wish I’d done it sooner.

I’ve worn glasses since I was seven years old. Switched to contacts when I was a teenager and as I got older I couldn’t see up close. So, I had to wear my contacts to see far away and I had to wear glasses to read. My eyes would get very tired.
I’ve used Dr. Shiller since he first came to town, which has been over ten years now. He said I can fix your problem. I knew a lot of people that had come to him and to have the surgery done and I’ve been anxious about it and put it off for several years because these are the only two eyes I have.
My experience at Shiller Vision Center has been great. It was very short, it was not painful. The doctor talked me through every step, explained everything that he was doing, what I would see, what I would feel. It was the perfect explanation. No surprises.
My brother has the same vision problem that I do and I told him about Dr. Shiller, because he’s like me…afraid. But I told everyone how good it is and how it really does change your life when you can see. It’s almost like having reborn eyes. I would highly recommend it to anybody. It will change your life.

I have worn glasses since I was in the fourth grade, so that’s been about thirty-five years ago. I finally decided a couple years ago to have the LASIK surgery done.
The doctor and staff are very thorough. They go over everything with you. They take measurements. They ask you questions. You have time to ask them questions.
Dr. Shiller and his staff are very kind...patient…caring…professional. There’s no pain and when you get up your vision has already improved. I went home, went to sleep, got up the next morning. My vision was already 20/20. It is fantastic.
I like to scuba dive. I like to golf. I ski. There’s no problem there. No sweat running down into your glasses or contacts, burning your eyes.
This was a birthday present from my husband last year, an absolutely fantastic gift. I don’t think he’s going to top it this year! It is well worth the investment. I had disposable contacts. I probably spent a hundred dollars every quarter on contacts. Not counting the glasses that I would wear when I got tired of the contacts.
If you’re thinking about having LASIK, I’d say do it. It is well worth the investment. It makes your life a lot easier. I’m sorry I waited two years to have it done.

I’ve worn glasses all my life. I was severely farsighted and had astigmatism also. I had very thick glasses that I wasn’t comfortable wearing in public. I could only wear hard contact lenses, so I couldn’t swim, couldn’t do a lot of stuff outdoors. By seven or eight o’clock every night I needed to take my contacts out and was quite miserable if I couldn’t.
I first went to Dr. Shiller about five years ago for a LASIK screening and found that I was not a candidate at that time. I ended up going back about two months ago. I found out that the technology had caught up with my particular situation and I was now a candidate for LASIK. I had that procedure three weeks ago and it changed my life immediately. I feel like I’m a different person now.
The day of my procedure and what struck me is I’ve been living with this problem for 37 years and it was fixed in less than an hour. I couldn’t believe that a life long problem could be fixed so easily with no pain and so quickly. After the procedure I went home, followed the instructions that were given to me and I woke up the next morning and it was like I had never had that problem before. There’s seldom five minutes that go by when I don’t consider myself lucky having the opportunity to see without contacts or glasses.
All of my experiences throughout the last five years with Dr. Shiller and his entire staff have been as pleasant as possible. I couldn’t recommend anyone more highly. I would encourage anyone considering having the LASIK procedure to check into Dr. Shiller.

I’ve always worn glasses. I couldn’t read or see in the distance it was a restriction on my driver’s license. And since I’ve had surgery I’ve got 20/20 vision and I can do anything I want to without glasses.
I selected the Crystalens as opposed to the normal lens because I wanted to be able to read do everything I could without glasses. I just wanted to get rid of the glasses and enjoy my life without glasses.
It’s an amazingly simple procedure, a piece of cake…no pain. Don’t be worried. You’re in good hands when you come to Dr. Shiller. Everybody makes you feel so comfortable and relaxed that I wasn’t worried about it at all.
I can read very well without glasses. I don’t have to hunt them every day of my life to find them to read or to go anywhere or to see something clearly. I never felt comfortable driving at night with glasses before I had my Crystalens implant. I have very good night vision now.
If someone were trying to decide to have the regular lens or the Crystalens they would have to weigh the pros and cons and decide on their priorities in their vision. If they want to go without glasses, Crystalens would be the way to go
Dr. Shiller is a wonderful doctor. He’s a caring doctor. He will work with you to correct your vision. He cares about his patients.

I started wearing glasses about 22 years ago, and each year it got progressively worse. Then over the last couple of years I noticed difficulty driving at night, blurry vision. I just couldn’t see the road because of the glare of the lights. It was too difficult for me to read a book, my eyes were really straining, and my computer work was difficult. My eyes tired and I got headaches. I finally came in for an exam and Dr. Shiller told me that I had cataracts.
I had never heard of Crystalens, but Dr. Shiller explained that I would not have to wear glasses. I’d have all three dimensions: close up, computer vision and distance. That’s what I really wanted, to have a normal life, so I was excited and that’s what I went for.
Everything I had heard about Dr. Shiller was excellent and so that’s why I came here. I’m very comfortable with him and so it was a good it was a good experience. The doctor and the staff prior to the surgery were very knowledgeable. They explained every thing. They were very relaxed. I was a little anxious but they made me feel very comfortable and the procedure itself was easy. There was no discomfort, no pain. It was just a few minutes and I was done. Fifteen minutes later I could see. I would do it again.
